Two Cities Virtual Ultra Marathon – 14 March 2021

The Moving ahead development Agency-NPC  announced the inaugural tri-distance virtual road race which took place on 14 March 2021 honouring Covid19 survivors.

The Moving ahead development Agency-NPC funded by The Gauteng Department: Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation hosted a virtual road run that saw in excess of 400 entries. Fittingly, the event theme was Nominate your Covid-19 Hero, Run for your person: A theme that celebrated all those who have conquered the pandemic. Look out for this annual event and bring your friends and family for a refreshing, fun and fit day out! The next event is set for March 2022.

30 November 2019 – Walk and Chat Against Gender Based Violence

The “I Pledge” Men’s campaign against Gender-Based Violence is a social consciousness initiative aimed at creating National Awareness, to encourage gender equality and show their support against gender-based violence.

The main objective of the campaign is to ask men to pledge in the fight against gender-based violence and to create awareness around the killing of young women and the damning effect it has on families and society. The campaign aims to urge society, especially men, to refrain from atrocities against women.

In cooperation with international 16 days of activism campaign which starts on 25 November and ends on 10 December, MADA saw it fitting to host the “5 km walk and chat” on 30 November 2019 at Zoo Lake. The walk and chat will engage our participants to speak out against Gender-Based Violence and will encourage men to stop abuse and rape in the workplace and in communities. We will have conversations about the factual issues that are faced in society around Gender-Based Violence and to let voices be heard, breaking the silence.
